Bad Boys: Ride or Die: Bad Boys Still Ride
MOVIE REVIEW
RATING: 7.5/10

Bad Boys: Ride or Die delivers exactly what you expect from the franchise: explosive action, plenty of laughs, and the unbeatable chemistry between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. Once again, these two stars prove that their bond is the true heart of the series. Lawrence, in particular, steals almost every scene he's in with his comedic timing and expressive reactions. Not all of his jokes land perfectly, but there’s no denying he brings the laughs when it counts. Smith, meanwhile, offers a more restrained, grounded performance, almost flipping roles with Lawrence, and it surprisingly works.
The action sequences are some of the best this year—slick, intense, and perfectly over-the-top in classic Bad Boys fashion. Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah keep the energy high with creative camera work and tightly choreographed set pieces. The cameos are a fun touch without feeling too gimmicky, and Reggie (Dennis Greene) has hands down the most unforgettable moment in the entire movie—an absolute scene-stealer.
That said, the movie takes a while to find its footing. The first act drags more than expected, and the villains are much less compelling compared to the antagonists in Bad Boys for Life. There's a noticeable drop-off in story strength, with some plot points feeling recycled or rushed. Despite these flaws, the movie's pure entertainment value helps it power through its weaker elements.
While Bad Boys: Ride or Die doesn’t reach the emotional highs or sharp storytelling of its predecessor, it’s still a blast to watch, especially if you’re a fan of the franchise. It’s a fun, adrenaline-fueled way to kick off the summer movie season — just don’t expect anything groundbreaking.
