Now this was a wild ride. The show immediately reminded me of Big Little Lies, but I’d actually say this one ends up being slightly better.

It does take a few episodes to fully pull you in. I wasn’t completely invested in the central murder mystery at first, but after episode three, the show really hooks you. From that point on, the twists, tension, and shifting perspectives keep the story moving compellingly. The narrative structure told through different viewpoints works especially well and constantly keeps you questioning what’s really going on.

One of the standout elements is the gaslighting, which is on another level. It creates a constant sense of unease and adds an extra layer of suspense as the mystery unfolds.

The casting is also spot-on. Elisabeth Moss has practically made playing characters with terrible luck with men and being relentlessly gaslit her signature at this point, and she’s excellent here. Kate Mara is also great, bringing a lot of presence to her role. Kerry Washington is interesting as well, although her character’s arc ends up being the least compelling of the three.

While the show takes some time to really get going and the ending could have been a bit stronger, the mystery itself, along with all the twists and turns, makes for an entertaining and tantalizing ride.
