Love, Death + Robots Vol 4 Episodes Ranked

Love, Death & Robots is back with Volume 4, delivering another eclectic mix of mind-bending sci-fi, twisted horror, dark comedy, and stunning animation. As always, the anthology offers something for everyone, but not every episode hits the same. Some are visual and narrative masterpieces that linger in your mind long after the credits roll, while others... well, they might leave you wondering how they made the cut.

So, I watched them all—and here’s my ranking of Volume 4, from the episodes that blew me away to the ones that barely made a spark. Let’s dive in!

10. Can't Stop

If Love, Death & Robots ever needed a parody of a 2000s rock music video, this would be it. Can’t Stop feels like an over-the-top, Red Hot Chili Peppers fever dream—flashy, loud, and entirely hollow. There’s no story to latch onto, and thematically it feels like an outlier. Stylish but shallow and ultimately forgettable.

9. Golgotha

This episode channels the vibes of The Drowned Giant from Volume 2 but leans more into comedy—though not always successfully. The humor feels a bit forced, and the story, while conceptually interesting, doesn’t land emotionally or thematically. It’s quirky but falls short in execution.8. For he can creep

A beautifully animated and well-acted tale that feels somewhat out of place this season. While the devilish cat-and-demon concept is fun in theory, the story lacks the punch needed to stand out. It’s charming in small moments, especially with the devil’s flair, but ultimately feels like filler compared to the season’s heavier hitters.

7. Spider Rose

This one boasts gorgeous animation with visual similarities to Volume 3’s “Swarm,” but the story doesn’t quite match the intrigue. While it’s visually impressive and atmospherically rich, the narrative feels a bit undercooked. A mid-tier episode that doesn’t leave a strong impression but is still worth a watch for the aesthetics alone.

6. The screaming of the tyrannosaur

Featuring striking visuals and a charismatic protagonist, this episode blends prehistoric chaos with futuristic flair. The time-loop gladiator-style concept is wild enough on its own, but throw in MrBeast as the voice of the sadistic game show host, and it becomes an entertainingly bizarre ride. It’s fun, fast-paced, and slightly unhinged in the best way.

5. Smart Appliances, Stupid Owners

Dark comedy gold. With sharp voice performances and hilariously bitter smart appliances, this episode is a biting satire of our tech-obsessed world. The banter is clever, the concept is brilliantly absurd, and the social commentary hits the mark. A definite highlight for fans of the show’s more comedic side.

4. The other large thing

This one’s a slow burn that sneaks up on you. What begins as an oddball premise quickly evolves into a surprisingly endearing tale of an unlikely duo—a robot and a cat—navigating a surreal world. Their dynamic is hilarious and heartfelt, and the ending hits just the right note. A fun sleeper hit of the season.

3. Close Encounters of the Mini Kind

A delightful burst of dark comedy and sci-fi mischief, this short story of alien invasion is both stylish and satirical. What starts as a quirky, almost whimsical scenario takes a sharp, bleak turn by the end. It’s a fun ride with an unexpected gut punch, making it a memorable entry that doesn't overstay its welcome.

2. 400 Boys

One of the most gripping entries in Volume 4. 400 Boys pulls you in with its haunting score, mesmerizing artistic direction, and an eerie world that feels both mythic and tragic. The characters are compelling, and the episode’s visual style feels like a modern echo of Zima Blue—bold, surreal, and unforgettable. A visual and emotional feast.

1. How Zeke Got Religion

This episode is a pulse-pounding mix of WWII action and gothic horror, delivering an intense ride from start to finish. The stunning animation feels like a spiritual successor to Volume 1’s “Sucker of Souls,” with its gritty art style and supernatural flair. It's a standout for fans who love explosive action paired with eerie suspense—and it’s one of the most satisfying throwbacks in the series.
