Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man: A Solid but Rushed Farewell to Thomas Shelby

I thought the final season of Peaky Blinders gave Thomas Shelby a beautiful and fitting arc, and The Immortal Man continues that journey by introducing his son, Duke, played by Barry Keoghan. Going in, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but for the most part, I didn’t mind what we got.
The film takes its time in the first half, moving at a slower pace to immerse you in its world and set the foundation for what’s to come. That patience pays off in the second half, where the story picks up and becomes far more engaging. However, the biggest issue is that the overall story feels rushed, especially when it comes to the relationship between Duke and Thomas. We don’t get enough time with them to fully build the emotional connection the film is aiming for.
Even so, it doesn’t tarnish Thomas Shelby’s legacy. Instead, it offers a solid, if not fully realized, conclusion to his character. The story itself is straightforward and told effectively, and the soundtrack is an absolute standout, adding a lot to the film’s atmosphere.
Overall, as far as Netflix films go, The Immortal Man is a solid watch—imperfect in its pacing and character development, but still engaging enough to satisfy fans of the series.
