Sometimes, you just want to sit back, relax, and enjoy a show that doesn’t require much thinking but delivers on badass action and intense fight sequences. That’s exactly what Reacher does. Alan Ritchson’s portrayal of Jack Reacher perfectly embodies the character’s imposing physicality and sharp wit, making him the ideal hero for this action-packed series. Both seasons 1 and 2 are filled with thrilling action, clever twists, and a cast of engaging characters that help elevate the show beyond its straightforward premise.

Season 1 of Reacher was a refreshing palate cleanser in a TV landscape dominated by complex narratives and multi-season arcs. The show leans into its ‘80s and ‘90s action roots, with Reacher coming to a small town and quickly dismantling a criminal conspiracy. Ritchson’s performance shines, capturing the essence of the character as written in the books. His imposing presence and dry humor make him the perfect fit for this role. The supporting cast, particularly Willa Fitzgerald as Roscoe Conklin and Bruce McGill as the villain, add depth and tension to the story. The dynamic between Reacher and the other characters is one of the series’ strongest elements.

Season 2 picks up the stakes even higher, as Reacher forms a squad to tackle an even bigger conspiracy. Initially, I wasn’t fully invested in the other characters, but as the season progressed, they became an integral part of the story. Their development added an extra layer of enjoyment to the show, turning what could have been a typical action series into something more engaging.

However, the finale of season 2 didn’t quite live up to the high standards set by the earlier episodes. The resolution felt a bit rushed, and some of the plot threads were left underdeveloped. That said, it didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the show. Reacher is a fun, action-packed series that delivers exactly what you’d expect—tough guys, high stakes, and plenty of punch.
