Wake Up Dead Man: The Weakest Knives Out Yet

This was honestly a huge letdown and easily the weakest entry in the franchise so far. The mystery itself just isn’t compelling, and the reveals never land with the level of surprise or cleverness that made the first two films so memorable.

The opening 30 minutes are solid, with an engaging setup that pulls you in and briefly hints at something sharper. Unfortunately, that momentum quickly fades. Benoit Blanc is oddly overshadowed in his own movie, with Josh O’Connor delivering a standout performance as Jud that ends up being far more interesting than the detective at the center of it all.

The rest of the ensemble is largely wasted, given little to do and leaving most of the cast feeling forgettable despite the stacked lineup. At nearly every turn, the film feels overly long and surprisingly dull. Between the weak script and underwhelming performances, the spark that once defined this franchise feels absent.

These Knives Out movies are starting to slip into Netflix-quality territory, losing the flair, sharp writing, and inventive storytelling that once set them apart. Despite the star power, this ultimately plays like just another forgettable mystery—and a worrying sign of a franchise slowly losing its edge.
