What If…? Season 2: A Mixed Bag of Multiversal Adventures
TV SHOW REVIEW
RATING: 6/10

Season 2 of What If…? was a hit-or-miss experience for me. On one hand, I appreciate the show’s continued exploration of the multiverse, with Peggy Carter at the helm as a central character. Her story arc works well in this season, though I have to admit that her prolonged emotional struggle over Steve Rogers, which continued from the first season, is starting to feel repetitive. It’s as though the show couldn’t let go of this thread, and it dampens the overall experience.
Out of the nine episodes, I found only three to be truly enjoyable. While the concept of hero team-ups is appealing, some episodes fell flat due to lackluster storylines or uninspired characters. Episode 6, however, stood out as a gem. Kahhori, a new character introduced in that episode, brought a refreshing perspective to the show. Her story was compelling, and I’d love to see more original characters like her in future seasons.
The finale, unfortunately, was a letdown. After the buildup from earlier episodes, I expected a much stronger convergence of the multiverse’s various stories. Instead, the ending felt rushed, and the resolution didn’t deliver the emotional or narrative payoff that I had hoped for.
Overall, What If…? Season 2 had some great moments, but it lacked the consistency and excitement that I was hoping for. If you enjoyed the first season, there’s still enough here to keep you entertained, but the show seems to be running out of steam with its multiversal storytelling. Here's hoping that the next season can pick up the slack and deliver a more satisfying conclusion.
